Enable or disable automatic notes backup

By default, Secure Reminder automatically creates backups of your notes database and Address Book on program exit. You can turn the automatic backup feature on or off at any time.
• Double-click on the Secure Reminder desktop icon and select 'Administrative Tools'.

Administrative Tools

• Under 'Options':
- to enable automatic backups, select the Backup Databases on exit option.
- to disable automatic backups, remove the check mark for the Backup Databases on exit option.
The names of backup files include the product version and the date of creation:
backup_reminder_version_YYYY-MM-DD--HH-MM-SS.dat, e.g. backup_reminder_9.0_2009-04-30--06-29-58.dat

Change the number of backups that are stored

You can change the number of backup copies that are stored. By default, Secure Reminder stores 10 backup copies of your notes database.
• Double-click on the Secure Reminder desktop icon and select 'Administrative Tools'.
• Under 'Options', enter the number of backups of your notes databases you want to store.

The location of notes database backups

If the Store independent databases for each PC user option is on, backups of the notes database for each user are stored in user's Documents and Settings folder:
On Windows XP C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\MoRUN.net\Sr\
On Windows Vista C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MoRUN.net\Sr\
If the Store independent databases for each PC user option is off, all notes backups are saved to the directory where the program is installed
by default C:\Program Files\MoRUN.net\Secure Reminder

Restore notes from a backup file

• Exit the program.
• If you don't want to remove the current reminder.dat file, save it with another name or in another folder. Then replace it with the necessary backup.
If you don't need the current reminder.dat file, just replace it with the necessary backup file.

Note: You can restore notes within the same program version. If you reinstalled the same program version, you should register it with the registration information it was registered before.
